Forever Ago Curious Object Photo Locations

Sweep Alfred's opening room for Snooping Shutterbug with a route-based candidate list, recognition checks, and clear community-evidence labels.

Snooping Shutterbug asks for every curious-object photo in Alfred’s opening room. The safest method is to clear the room before taking the calendar shot that advances the scene toward Alfred at the window. Published player notes provide a useful candidate sweep, but they do not constitute an official object list; use Alfred’s spoken reaction and the live Steam unlock as the final checks.

ProofSteam achievementA saved photo alone is not enough; wait for Snooping Shutterbug to unlock before leaving.

Start with the bed and desk side

Do not aim at the calendar first. Turn through the room methodically and take one clearly framed image of each distinct display. Begin with the teddy bear on the bed; the attributed story walkthrough independently identifies it as part of the camera tutorial. Check the bed area for any nearby textile or pillow subject that produces a unique spoken response.

Move to the work or study side. Photograph the family image or photo arrangement on the board or wall, then the books, plant, lamp, and other grouped desk-floor displays individually enough that the game can recognize their intended subject. Community notes mention a green light and a pile with brightly colored cushions on this side. Treat that description as a search cue, not an official label.

Keep the camera steady long enough to hear whether Audrey or Alfred comments. If two objects share the frame and no response occurs, move closer and isolate one. Taking many wide pictures makes it harder to know what the game accepted.

Sweep the walls and foot of the bed

The opening room contains personality objects rather than uniform collectibles. Candidate reports identify a school or team banner, multiple posters, medals, and a volcano model near the foot of the bed. Photograph the banner and each poster as separate subjects. Frame the medal display so both colored awards are visible, then move to the model or science-project object on the bench.

One community list describes poster text approximately as an “Other Worlds” image and another clothing-themed title. Spelling from a player comment is not reliable enough to canonicalize, so visual position matters more than reproducing those words. The goal is to make the game’s recognition fire, not to match a fan transcription.

Study wallFamily photos or board display, then the calendar only after the rest of the room. The calendar is both a candidate and a scene-advance risk.
Closet sideCloset-area display or cards, plus the nearby plant and books.A response about clothing may come from the closet framing, according to a player report.
Decorated wallsTeam banner, two posters, paired medals, and the clock-shaped figure.Photograph each display separately rather than in one wall-wide shot.
Floor and cornersBooks, colored lamp or light, cushions, and any close foreground object.Crouch or reposition if the subject is cut off at the frame edge.

This table deliberately groups candidates by position. The underlying player report says its author tracked a complete unlock but remained uncertain about one foreground object. That uncertainty is preserved rather than converted into a fake official checklist.

Leave the calendar and Alfred until last

The full-release walkthrough says the tutorial expects pictures of a manual, teddy, wall images, and calendar before Alfred calls from the window. The achievement guide warns that the calendar can trigger the transition toward that portrait. Therefore, finish every room edge, then photograph the manual and calendar if they have not already registered.

Pause after the calendar response. Check for Snooping Shutterbug before turning right and completing the portrait of Alfred outside. If the achievement appears, continue normally. If it does not, keep control in the room and repeat only candidates that did not produce a recognizable comment.

Do not take Alfred’s portrait as a substitute for a missing object. It advances the story tutorial but is a person outside the room, not one of the room’s curious displays under the public condition.

Improve recognition without losing track

One subject per frame

Fill enough of the view with the target that the recognizer does not choose a neighboring poster, lamp, or piece of furniture.

Wait for speech

Let the current reaction finish before taking another candidate. Overlapping comments remove your best evidence that a shot counted.

Mark silent objects

If a candidate receives no feedback, change distance or angle once and try again. Avoid dozens of identical shutter presses.

Check Steam separately

The in-game photo and the platform notification are different signals. Reach a stable pause if Steam's overlay notification is delayed.

Camera focus, subject recognition, and platform unlock display can occur at different moments. A picture that looks sharp to you may not meet the game’s target framing. Conversely, an accepted in-game action may reach Steam after a short delay. Do not restart the scene until dialogue has settled and the platform has had a chance to update.

If Snooping Shutterbug does not unlock

Remain in the room if possible. Revisit the easily merged pairs: wall photos versus calendar, closet display versus plant/books, posters versus banner, medals versus clock figure, and lamp/books versus floor cushions. Listen for a response that you did not hear during the first sweep.

If the Alfred-at-window prompt has already advanced control, do not force-close during a save transition. Finish the scene, preserve the save, and check what replay options the current build exposes. Public evidence used here does not establish that every player can return to the opening through chapter select.

For a repeated failure, record which objects produced spoken comments, whether the achievement remained locked after a stable menu, input device, and build. The right report is “all tracked candidates commented but Steam did not unlock,” not an unsupported claim that one decorative item must be the universal missing object.

Sources and evidence status

The grouped room route, troubleshooting, evidence labels, and prose are original. The candidate inventory is paraphrased and reorganized; no community prose, screenshots, or page structure was copied.
